Madda Walabu University has conducted an Orientation Program focused on the English Language Improvement Program specifically designed for instructor trainees. This initiative is part of the university's commitment to enhancing the language proficiency of educators, recognizing that effective communication skills are essential for teaching and engaging with students.

Mr. Mekonnen Sime coordinator of English Language Improvement Program (ELIC) indicated as the program targeted to equip instructor trainees with the necessary tools to improve their English language abilities, thereby enabling them to deliver lessons more effectively and foster a better learning environment for their students.

On the other hand, Mr. Lecho Samueal, special assist for Academic Research Community Engagement and Technology Transfer Vice president, and the delegate emphasized in his opening speech as the orientation aimed to provide participants with insights into the language proficiency development and the instructional language that will be employed throughout the English Language Improvement Program. Emphasizing interactive and participatory learning, the program encourages instructor trainees to actively engage in speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises. By focusing on practical applications of language skills, the university aims to build confidence among trainees, allowing them to communicate more effectively in academic settings and beyond. This focus on language proficiency is crucial, as it directly impacts the quality of education that instructors will provide to their students.

Moreover, Madda Walabu University recognizes that the Orientation Program serves as a platform for instructor trainees to connect with one another, share experiences, and learn from diverse perspectives. By promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment, the university aims to empower its trainees not only as language users but also as facilitators of knowledge who can inspire and motivate their students. Ultimately, this initiative reflects the university's dedication to developing well-rounded educators who are prepared to meet the challenges of teaching in a globalized world.
