The Madda Walabu University School of Law is dedicated to delivering quality legal education with the ultimate goal of producing competent professionals who will serve in the justice system and other legal sectors. Grounded in a commitment to academic excellence, the school provides a rigorous, high-quality legal education that equips students with the critical thinking, advocacy, and ethical standards necessary to serve the community and the broader legal system. Through innovative teaching, scholarly research, and practical training, we prepare our students to address contemporary legal challenges and contribute meaningfully to society. The law program began its journey in 2004 E.C. with just three academic staff members. At that time, the program was established as a department under the School of Behavioural Sciences. As student enrolment grew, the department was officially upgraded to the School of Law in 2008 E.C. Currently, the school offers undergraduate law degrees (LL.B.) through both regular and weekend (extension) programs.Today, the School offers undergraduate legal education through both Regular and Extension Programs and operates at the Main Campus and Shashemene Campus.
