The CANR of MWU is committed to advancing agricultural transformation, digital agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. Through excellence in education, research, and community engagement, the College generates knowledge and practical solutions to address local, national, and global challenges while improving livelihoods, food security, environmental sustainability, agricultural productivity, climate resilience, and sustainable natural resource management. By integrating agricultural development, digital technologies, and biodiversity conservation, CANR supports capacity building and evidence-based solutions to development challenges. CANR offers seven undergraduate programs: Plant Science, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Biodiversity and Ecotourism Management, Rural Development and Agricultural Extension, Forestry, and Agricultural Economics. It also provides six postgraduate programs: Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Animal Production, Rural Development, Watershed Management, and Ecosystem and Biodiversity Conservation. A key strength of the College is hosting MWU’s two Centers of Excellence in Agriculture and Biodiversity, which serve as hubs for interdisciplinary research, innovation, community engagement, and collaboration. These centers advance sustainable agricultural systems, digital agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and data-driven natural resource management. Guided by a vision of excellence, CANR aims to produce globally competitive graduates, generate impactful research, and foster strategic partnerships. By 2035, it aspires to be among the top five nationally recognized and top ten internationally recognized agricultural institutions.
